Developers of Ark Move Away from AI-Made Trailer: 'We Had No Idea'

The developers of Ark: Survival Evolved deny involvement with a controversial AI-generated trailer for the game's upcoming DLC.

The developers of Ark: Survival Evolved have distanced themselves from a controversial AI-generated trailer for their upcoming underwater DLC, Aquatica. A statement from the team clarified that they were unaware of the trailer’s creation, which was attributed to the marketing department. The backlash against the trailer has been significant, with fans expressing their outrage on social media.

Matt Kohl, the lead game designer at Snail Games, stated, ‘The marketing department used still images of some of our assets to create an AI-animated trailer. That was not part of the development team; we did not know that they were doing it.’

In summary, while attracted to modern technologies, the developers aim to ensure that the final product does not reflect the poor representation seen in the AI trailer.
