Director of The Witcher 3 Starts New Studio to Realize Vampire RPG Vision

Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, former director of The Witcher 3, discusses launching Rebel Wolves and their upcoming RPG.

In a recent interview, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the celebrated director behind The Witcher 3, explained the motivations behind founding Rebel Wolves.

Tomaszkiewicz, well-known for his pivotal role in Cyberpunk 2077, shared insights into why he left CD Projekt Red. He stated, “I wanted to create something unique with my friends. While we respect what has come before in the RPG genre, we believe it can evolve. We had bold ideas, realizing that we needed our own studio to bring them to life.”

The upcoming title, The Blood of Dawnwalker, will feature a half-human, half-vampire protagonist, named Coen, who must confront powerful vampire foes that threaten his family and community.

The development team, consisting of other former CD Projekt members, aims to push the boundaries of RPGs. Notably, they are introducing a ’time as a resource’ mechanic, linking tasks and quests to a dynamic day-night cycle, thus enabling players to forge their own narratives.
