System Shock 2 Remaster Set for Release
The long-awaited remaster of System Shock 2 is set to launch on June 26 this year on Steam and GOG. After a lengthy development period of six years, Nightdive Studios presents a remake that enhances every aspect of the game.
“I must admit, I prefer System Shock 2 over Deus Ex. The former’s eerie corridors and perfect villains have left a lasting impression on me.” Translation: I have a fondness for the horror elements and storyline of System Shock 2 over other games.
The remaster is expected to offer support for 4K graphics and 144 fps on PC, along with other enhancements. Features now include achievements, gamepad support, and mod support allowing players to integrate community-created missions upon release.
In a nod to nostalgia, Nightdive has even restored the original game’s co-op mode, letting players tackle the game with friends across different platforms.
With the success of the first System Shock remake under their belt, expectations are high for this remaster to deliver a refined yet faithful experience of a beloved classic.
