Nvidia Acknowledges 'Open Issue' with Varjo Aero VR Headsets and RTX 50-Series GPUs

Nvidia has recognized an ongoing issue affecting Varjo Aero VR headsets when paired with RTX 50-series graphics cards as users report problems connecting their devices.

Last week, reports surfaced that Varjo Aero VR headsets were failing to connect with RTX 5090 GPUs. At that time, Nvidia had not issued an official statement beyond requesting feedback from users. However, in the recent driver update (version 572.83), Nvidia acknowledged the issue as an ‘open problem’.

Under the section detailing ‘open issues’, the announcement notes: “Varjo Aero VR headset may fail to establish connection.” This acknowledgment is encouraging news for Varjo Aero VR headset users with RTX 50-series GPUs, although solutions will only be confirmed with future driver updates. Nvidia cautions that many driver issues may not necessarily stem from their hardware.

So far, the RTX 50-series has encountered numerous technical problems, notably black screen scenarios, which prior updates claimed to have addressed.

An essential note from Nvidia’s recent communication states, “GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs crashing with black screens have been resolved… again,” suggesting ongoing efforts to tackle these glitches.
