Given the challenging year Intel has faced, there were discussions about the company possibly selling its manufacturing sector or even entire operations. Surprising news emerged that TSMC was allegedly reaching out to Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom to collaborate in running Intel’s factories.
Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, highlighted his surprise when he stated: “Nobody’s invited us to a consortium… Nobody invited me. Maybe other people are involved, but I don’t know. There might be a party. I wasn’t invited.”
The original rumor suggested TSMC had proposed a joint venture where the three companies would take stakes in managing Intel’s operations, a claim that seems increasingly doubtful, particularly concerning Nvidia’s involvement.
Huang’s comments raise questions about such collaborations, adding an element of uncertainty to the future of Intel’s chip manufacturing, which has seen significant struggles lately.
