Nvidia Reduces Prices for RTX 50-Series FE Cards in the UK and Europe: Implications and Availability
Nvidia announces a price cut for its RTX 50-series Founders Edition cards, but stock issues persist.
To call the Nvidia RTX 50-series launch a disappointment would be a gross understatement due to low stocks, high prices, and promised performance that is only kind-of true. It is with reluctance that I present news of a price reduction on the RTX 50-series cards.
Yes, the RTX 50-series has had a price cut (via VideoCardz)… but only in Europe and the UK. These cuts apply only to the Founders Edition MSRP cards, and the RTX 5070 Ti, for which there is no FE version, remains at its previous price.
VideoCardz points out that these changes align with the falling value of the USD and subsequent exchange rate adjustments. For instance, Germany has seen price drops of about 4.3-4.6% for the RTX 5070, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090, closely correlating with the US dollar’s decline.
UK Pricing:
- RTX 5070: Starting at £529 (down from £539)
- RTX 5070 Ti: Starting at £729 (same price)
- RTX 5080: Starting at £949 (down from £979)
- RTX 5090: Starting at £1,889 (down from £1,939)
It is worth noting that the overall decline in MSRP does not translate to wider availability, as these models are largely still out of stock. Nvidia previously disclosed in an earnings call regarding a projected increase in supply, but consumers are still facing low inventories.
In a related context, the issue surrounding low stock and inflated pricing also affects AMD, which is reportedly achieving significant sales with its RX 9070 cards, yet experiencing similar stock challenges.
