Undertale Goes on Sale for Under $1 as Player Count Hits New Heights

Iconic indie RPG Undertale sees a surge in players as it drops to less than a dollar for the first time in years.

Undertale is currently available for less than the cost of a cheap hotdog: until March 20, you can buy it for under $1 on Steam as part of the 2025 Steam sale.

This price drop has led to a new peak in player count, with creator Toby Fox announcing on social media:

“Since going on sale on Steam for only $1, UNDERTALE reached a new peak of concurrent players for the first time since 2015!”

Currently, the game has seen an impressive peak of 11,071 players. This marks a significant increase from its initial release, which hit 10,473 players.

For those who may not have experienced it yet, now is a great time to dive into this revolutionary indie RPG, which has set the standard for many others that followed. With around 20 hours of gameplay available, buying it for just a dollar is quite the deal.
