Koei Tecmo has acknowledged the issue, stating, “We are currently looking into and investigating reported save data issues for Rise of the Ronin Steam edition.” They provided some possible solutions, such as resolving conflicts with file-sharing services like Dropbox and ensuring Steam Cloud is enabled.

Despite promised patches, players are experiencing significant setbacks, which include losing game progress and receiving error messages upon closing the game. Many have indicated that local saves have also been wiped, not just those stored in the cloud.
