Developer Polygon Crypt and publisher Gigatank 3000 have unveiled the first-ever trailer for the upcoming sci-fi survival horror PC game Ghost Sector, which draws on retro classics of the genre to bring players a familiar yet refreshing experience. Slated for release exclusively on PC sometime in 2026, Ghost Sector is available to wishlist now on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

A number of horror games with retro aesthetics and old-school gameplay have found popularity in recent years, proving that even modern audiences enjoy a throwback experience with new video game releases. Building on that rush of nostalgia and combining it with innovative storytelling, Ghost Sector looks to scratch the survival horror itch for both veteran and first-time players.

Revealed as part of The MIX Spring Showcase 2025, Ghost Sector is a brand-new third-person survival horror game in which players will take on the role of M-07, a prototype humanoid machine, and work to escape a mysterious facility while uncovering their robotic origins. Once a maximum-security prison, the M-Tech Corporation has transformed the derelict complex into a massive robot research facility that has pushed android replication beyond the limits of scientific ethical standards. Protagonist M-07 awakens after a catastrophic event and must navigate the facility’s defense systems to unravel the origins of their creation and discover the secrets behind the M-Tech Corporation.

Featuring fixed camera angles and tank controls similar to many classic PS1 survival horror games, Ghost Sector challenges players with limited power sources, intricate environmental puzzles, and double-edged upgrade options to create an immersive sci-fi horror experience. Ghost Sector blends futuristic decay with retro horror by drawing aesthetic inspiration from classic sci-fi video games like Galerians, BioForge, Citadel, and Alien Breed: Tower Assault, as well as implementing an eerie ambiance similar to that of the Ridley Scott Alien film franchise. Audiences can jump into the space horror mystery when Ghost Sector launches on Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2026.
