Netflix's Devil May Cry Showrunner Confirms Kevin Conroy's Lines Were Recorded Preceding His Passing

The showrunner of the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Devil May Cry has confirmed that all of Kevin Conroy's lines were recorded before his death, stating they did not utilize any AI for the performance.

The upcoming animated series based on Devil May Cry is set to include the late Kevin Conroy, renowned for his role as Batman. His recordings were completed before his passing in 2022 due to cancer, which means there was no AI involvement in his performance. Adi Shankar, the showrunner, expressed his admiration for Conroy’s work, noting that his performance was nuanced and an honor to work with. Shankar remarked, “Mr. Conroy gave an amazingly nuanced performance. It was both a pleasure and an honour to work with him.”

Additionally, Johnny Yong Bosch, who voices Dante, shared how significant it was to collaborate with Conroy, stating that Batman: The Animated Series redefined cartoons for him.

Conroy’s voice can be heard in the trailer, where he describes Dante as a “top-level threat” and instructs armed personnel to engage him fully. Fans are eager to hear him in his new role as VP Baines in the series, confirming that his legacy continues in various forms even after his departure.
