New Tool Simplifies Scaler Swaps for AMD and Nvidia Graphics

A new modding tool allows easier swapping between AMD's FSR and Nvidia's DLSS upscalers in supported games.

Upscaling technologies such as Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR have become essential for modern gaming, yet support for these technologies varies by game. A new tool named OptiScaler simplifies the process of switching upscalers, allowing users to inject their preferred scaler into any game that supports DLSS 2, FSR 2, or XeSS.

For example, the AMD RX 9070 XT can run Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p with full path tracing enabled thanks to the integration of FSR 4 by OptiScaler. The tool provides options for frame generation and supports AMD’s Anti-Lag 2 technology. According to the OptiScaler compatibility list, 26 games currently show some functionality with FSR 4, with additional titles able to swap upscalers dynamically.

This tool not only facilitates better performance for AMD GPUs but also provides Nvidia users the chance to enhance their gaming visuals when certain titles lack DLSS integration. The ability to easily switch between upscalers without needing to dive into complicated file manipulations or command line procedures offers significant advantages for gamers looking to optimize their experiences.
