Bungie's Destiny 2 Event Launches Early, Offering New Loot Ahead of Schedule

Destiny 2 players encounter unexpected early access to the Rite of the Nine event, complete with new loot.

The Dungeon-themed event was scheduled to launch on April 1, but it appears an error led to an early launch.

Players can now access the Rite of the Nine events which include new loot dropping in the game. Although the newly available weapons are untextured placeholder versions, they are usable within the game.

Excitement Among Players
Destiny Bulletin was the first to highlight this mishap on social media. The community is buzzing about the unexpected early access, and as per Bungie’s statement on Bluesky, they are already addressing the early rollout and will soon disable all related activities and rewards to correct the issue.

Looking Forward
Rite of the Nine is anticipated to be a substantial addition to the game, granting players new weapons and features. Bungie confirms the complete rollout is still scheduled for April 1.
