Kojima Productions confirmed the release date for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach during a panel at SXSW. Preorders will start on March 17, with a Collector’s Edition offered as well.

At the March 9 event, creator Hideo Kojima revealed what players can expect from the highly anticipated sequel. The game will continue the story after the initial Death Stranding title, featuring Sam Porter Bridges alongside new characters.

The updated PlayStation Store page indicated the return of the Social Strand system and highlighted open-ended encounters intended to give players more control over gameplay interactions.

The sequel seeks to delve into themes of human connection within a post-apocalyptic world. Kojima also presented a 10-minute trailer showcasing gameplay and cinematic moments, all captured on PS5 hardware.

In addition to standard and digital editions, the physical Collector’s Edition will bundle a voucher for the Digital Deluxe Edition, which features exclusive in-game items and merchandise.
