The latest preview for the upcoming game Doom: The Dark Ages highlights a weapon known as the Skullcrusher, designed to deliver vivid carnage in battles.
“It does exactly what you expect,” says Hugo Martin, the game’s director. This grotesque minigun can turn into a long-range weapon while producing gruesome effects on enemies. The gun previously started as the “Bonecrusher” before evolving into its current nightmarish state.
Among Doom’s arsenal, this weapon stands out due to its unique mechanics and its ability to increase fire rate and movement speed while granting a close-range advantage.
“This weapon is kind of like a weed whacker,” states Martin, comparing its functionality to the earlier Doom machine guns. It gives players a tactical edge to maneuver around enemies during intense firefights.
With refined gore systems and destructible demons, Doom: The Dark Ages aims to elevate the franchise’s violent legacy, which fans can look forward to when it debuts on May 15.
