AMD's RX 9070 Series GPUs Sold Out in Minutes at Launch

The recent launch of AMD's RX 9070 series graphics cards saw them sell out rapidly, highlighting the persistent supply issues surrounding new tech releases.

The launch of AMD’s eagerly awaited RX 9070 graphics cards has created a significant rush among consumers, with both the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models reportedly disappearing from various retail sites almost immediately after becoming available. The base price for these GPUs is set at $599 for the RX 9070 XT and $549 for the RX 9070. However, as expected with limited stock, many buyers have been unwilling to settle for these prices and have turned to scalpers, paying exorbitant amounts to secure a card.

“MSRP ones did at least appear briefly, but were quickly sold out,” stated Jacob Fox, during live coverage on the PC Gamer site. He highlighted a stark contrast with NVIDIA’s recent launches, where the RTX 5070 cards faced significant availability issues. As much as 10 minutes was all it took for the majority of cards at MSRP pricing to vanish.

While some cards did linger longer at inflated prices, the hope remains that stock levels and prices will stabilize over time, enabling gamers to purchase the products they desire at reasonable prices. Despite stock concerns, the RX 9070 series promises a solid upgrade option, especially with advancements in graphics technology.
