Google Unveils Enhanced AI Search Engine Mode for Power Users

Google introduces a new AI Mode that promises more comprehensive AI responses to users' queries, tailored specifically for power users seeking in-depth answers.

Google has launched an advanced AI Mode for its search engine, aimed at delivering more detailed AI-driven responses to complex queries. This update follows the AI Overview system introduced the previous year, enhancing the features to accommodate power users who require nuanced responses. The blog post states, “we’ve heard from power users that they want AI responses for even more of their searches.”

This new mode is equipped with capabilities for “advanced reasoning, thinking, and multimodal” responses, allowing users to ask additional questions to clarify information provided.

The AI Mode utilizes a specialized version of Google’s Gemini 2.0 model, designed specifically to help users navigate complex queries more efficiently. Starting today, Premium users of Google AI will receive invitations to test this new mode, which will be offered free for the first month before costing $19.99 monthly, inclusive of 2 TB of storage and access to advanced features of Google’s AI suite.

As development progresses, Google emphasizes the importance of verifying information compiled by AI, noting that while it provides faster responses, it can still produce inaccurate or biased outputs.
