Monster Hunter Series Producer Elevated to Capcom's Chief Product Officer

Ryozo Tsujimoto has been appointed as Capcom's Chief Product Officer, signaling a new era for the Monster Hunter franchise.

Ryozo Tsujimoto has taken the helm as Capcom’s Chief Product Officer, overseeing development divisions starting April 1. Since joining Capcom in 1996, he has championed the Monster Hunter series, rising through the ranks since his involvement began with Monster Hunter Freedom 2 in 2007.

The announcement signifies a new direction for the franchise under his leadership. With aspirations to push Monster Hunter beyond its original niche, Ryozo’s role confirms Capcom’s confidence in his vision for future titles.

“I still get involved in gameplay aspects. I’m not just a suit,” Tsujimoto stated in a previous interview with The Guardian in 2008.

Under his watch, Monster Hunter Wilds has become a record-breaker, achieving over 8 million sales within just three days of its launch. This new position solidifies Ryozo Tsujimoto’s reputation as a formidable force in the gaming industry.
