The North American team is on the lookout for a new coach following a disappointing start to 2025.
Complexity announced that they have parted ways with head coach Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen, marking the end of a long-standing association with the 32-year-old.
The decision follows a bleak beginning to the season, where Complexity won only one of their first six LAN matches.
After the loss of star player Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski and the benching of Ricky “floppy” Kemery at the end of last season, the team is currently positioned at 25th in Valve’s global rankings, a drop from 15th at the year’s start.
T.c joined Complexity in January 2022, as the organization revamped their roster with members from Extra Salt. He was instrumental in the team clinching the ESL Challenger Jönköping 2024 title and reaching the grand final of IEM Sydney 2023.
In a post on X, T.c expressed gratitude towards teammate Johnny “JT” Theodosiou and wished the team “nothing but the best in the future.” He added, “For now, I’ll be recharging in South Africa with family while I await my next adventure. I’m a free agent and open to opportunities in any region.”
Hours before T.c’s announcement, Complexity achieved a 2-0 victory over Aether in their first match in the North American closed qualifier for PGL Bucharest. Their next match is scheduled for Thursday against Take Flyte in the upper bracket semi-final of Group B.
