It began when a player compiled all the instances where Jack Black speaks in the Minecraft Movie trailer, mentioning terms like “Steve” and “crafting table.” Another gamer suggested creating a mod where players would hear clips from the movie every time they interact with the game.

“Now you can be Steve from the hit movie Minecraft in the game Minecraft based on the movie. Three hours of my life that I’ll never get back went into making this,” said SnailMan, the modder behind the voice integration.

Initial reactions show that players can hear Jack Black’s voice say “Steve” when they log into Minecraft and say “crafting table” when they build or interact within the game. SnailMan has plans to expand the mod further.
