MSI Removes MSRP Graphics Cards from Its Store Amid Low Stock Levels

MSI has withdrawn its retail-priced RTX 50-series graphics cards from its online store, highlighting ongoing supply issues and price hikes in the GPU market.

With the launch of the RTX 5090, Nvidia and its partners set an unsettling tone for the new GeForce RTX 50-series. This tone manifests in alarmingly low stock availability and prices far exceeding Nvidia’s suggested retail prices. Initially, MSI had offered a limited number of models priced as suggested, but they are now seemingly vanished from the online store.

The RTX 5070 Ti, typically priced at $759, is now seen at $820 (an 8% increase over MSRP), while the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 have escalated to $1,140 and $2,400 respectively, surpassing their official prices by 14% and 20%.

Despite these increases, the most pressing issue remains stock availability. ASICs and other components are notably scarce, meaning that not only are the MSRP cards missing, but none have actually been in stock since launch.

Traditionally, Nvidia hasn’t provided a Founders Edition for the RTX 5070 Ti, adding ambiguity to its pricing. Nevertheless, consumers can theoretically acquire the RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 at MSRP if they happen to find them at Nvidia or authorized retailers.

As demand continues to outweigh supply, it raises questions about the ability for future releases, such as the RTX 5070 and AMD’s newly announced Radeon RX 9070/9070 XT, to meet consumer expectations.
