Major Overhaul for Kislev: Total War: Warhammer 3's Upcoming Patch

Creative Assembly announces significant changes to the Kislev faction in Total War: Warhammer 3, focusing on quality improvements over new content.

Creative Assembly has detailed the upcoming patch for Total War: Warhammer 3. This mid-March update aims to change their approach from introducing new content to improving existing gameplay. The Kislev faction, noted as challenging to play, is set for a complete overhaul.

In a blog post, game designer William Håkestad remarked: “One of the consistent messages we heard loud and clear from the community was that not enough attention has been given to the existing content in lieu of new content. So we’re taking a crack at equalizing that a bit now.” Håkestad emphasized that Kislev was “identified as the most in need of a deep review and rethink.”

The update involves radically changing how the Kislev faction operates, removing certain outdated mechanics and introducing new features designed to enhance player experience. The new mechanics focus on balancing support between Kislev’s two main factions rather than rushing to complete tasks, aiming for strategic depth in gameplay.

Additional changes include reshaping the Kislev tech tree and making improvements to garrison mechanics, providing a more dynamic gameplay experience.

Despite these adjustments, two new units will also be introduced, ensuring that while the update prioritizes existing content, there’s still space for new additions.
