PGL Reveals Revised Prize Pool Distribution for Bucharest 2025
PGL has announced a new prize pool structure for its upcoming tournament, aligning more closely with other organizers’ models, promising 50% revenue share to participating teams.
PGL has recently announced an updated prize pool allocation for the upcoming PGL Bucharest 2025, beginning on April 5. The total prize pool will remain at $1,250,000, with participating teams now set to receive 50% of the share.
The prior structure allowed clubs to earn a singular payment, but with this shift, PGL aligns more closely with BLAST and ESL, who have adopted similar models. This adjustment aims to create a more sustainable ecosystem for clubs, beneficial for both teams and the viewing audience.
The change comes after a notable drop in participation from several large organizations, including Spirit, Natus Vincere, Vitality, and G2, which boycotted previous tournaments in protest against revenue-sharing issues.
Additional Details:
- The new incentive structure will likely encourage higher participation in 2025 events, creating an enhanced competitive landscape.

This modification reflects a necessary evolution in esports prize distribution, aiming to foster collaboration and fairer sponsorship opportunities among teams.
