Steam Next Fest's Most Popular Demo Named: A Game That Divides Opinions
Despite its harsh reviews, Mecha Break secures the top spot during the Steam Next Fest.
Mecha Break struggles to find favor among gamers.
While some experiences linger post-festival, many do not. As the first Steam Next Fest of 2025 winds down at 10 AM PT on March 3, Mecha Break has surprisingly held the top demo spot despite having a user rating of Mostly Negative with just 34% of reviews being positive.

The game combines elements of Armored Core and hero shooters but has faced heavy criticism for its drawn-out tutorials and aggressive monetization strategies. Still, it clings to first place as other demos ebb and flow in popularity.
Following Mecha Break, the second spot is presently occupied by Among Us 3D, a VR adaptation facilitating proximity voice chat for players. Other notable titles include RoadCraft and Fellowship, rounding the top five.
Harvey Randall aptly described Haste: Broken Worlds as “a game about strategic falling,” and its unique mechanics may captivate players looking for something different among traditional gameplay.
