Eight teams from various regions of Asia-Pacific will compete for a spot in the PGL Bucharest tournament. The teams include Rare Atom, ATOX, and TALON. The event is scheduled to take place from March 6-9, featuring a double-elimination bracket and a best-of-five grand final, with a prize pool of $1.25 million at stake.
Currently standing third in Valve’s Asian Regional Standings, ATOX is one of the favorites to win the tournament. The Mongolian team had a tough qualification process, having lost to HOTU in the opening round of the Asian qualifiers. This tournament serves as a preparation ground for their upcoming BLAST Open Lisbon event.
Moreover, this will be TALON’s initial LAN event since their participation in the Shanghai Major’s Asian RMR. They will be competing with stand-ins Euan “sterling” Moore and Liam “malta” Schembri, while original players Miłosz “mhL” Knasiak and Aaron “AZR” Ward are absent due to undisclosed reasons.
Other notable participants in the Asian Masters include JiJieHao and Only One Word, each fielding former stars from notable teams.
