AMD Launches Radeon RX 9070 Series: Price and Release Details Revealed

AMD unveils its new graphics cards, the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, set for release on March 6 at competitive prices.

Summary

  • The AMD Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT will launch on March 6 at $549 and $599.
  • These GPUs will compete against Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti.
  • The AMD RX 9000 lineup features enhanced memory and FSR4 upscaling support.

On February 28, AMD announced its flagship graphics cards, the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, set to debut on March 6. These new graphics cards will retail for just under $600, directly competing with Nvidia’s RTX 50 series.

AMD’s announcement comes amid controversy following Nvidia’s early 2025 launch of the RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 Ti GPUs, which quickly sold out. While some consumers managed to purchase them at their original prices, many units were scalped, leading to resale prices of up to $3,000.

Similarly, AMD’s outgoing GPUs, such as the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, have begun to see scalped prices over $1,000 due to increased demand.

Despite market challenges, AMD is set to roll out its RDNA4 GPUs. According to the information shared, these graphics cards will be available at major retailers in the US starting March 6, featuring competitive pricing at $549 for the RX 9070 and $599 for the RX 9070 XT.

Key Features

  • Launch date: March 6
  • Pricing: RX 9070 at $549, RX 9070 XT at $599
  • Competes with Nvidia RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti
  • Equipped with 16GB video memory, HDMI 2.1b, and DisplayPort 2.1a connectivity.

Power Supplies of at least 650 to 750W are recommended for optimal performance. Additionally, the RX 9000 series will offer features like FSR4 upscaling, enhancing gaming experiences especially with AMD CPUs, such as the Ryzen 9 9900X.
