Update Delayed for Civilization 7's First In-Game Event

Firaxis will focus on improvements rather than releasing the initial in-game event for Civilization 7 as planned.

Civilization 7 has faced challenges since its release, primarily due to changes that some players found overly simplifying. In response to community feedback, developer Firaxis is delaying its initial in-game event set for March 4 to concentrate on significant quality-of-life enhancements that players have requested. The update will involve improvements to the interface and gameplay adjustments, particularly targeting the Modern Age’s Cultural Legacy Path and Victory conditions.

The first update will also introduce new leaders and additional civilizations alongside fresh Natural Wonders into the gameplay. However, this means that the ‘Natural Wonder Battle’ event will not launch as scheduled. A timeline for rescheduling the event has not yet been finalized, although Firaxis promises to provide more information soon.

The following update is tentatively planned for March 25, which will further refine the user interface based on ongoing player feedback. Firaxis acknowledges the continuous need for improvements and adjustments to modernize gameplay dynamics.
