Elite Dangerous Introduces a New System Colonization Feature for Expandable Gameplay

The latest update in Elite Dangerous brings a major system colonization mechanic, enabling players to expand humanity into new star systems.

Why You Might Want to Leave Earth

In the newest update for Elite Dangerous, titled Trailblazers, players are introduced to an exciting system for colonizing new worlds. This feature allows players to expand humanity into uncharted territories of the vast Milky Way galaxy.

New Mechanics Introduced

The update comes with a system colonization mechanic that enables players to manage resources toward building and expanding their own systems. Players can chat with system colonization specialists at various space stations to initiate the claiming process of a new system.

Frontier, the developer, states:

“With the brand-new System Colonisation mechanic launching into Beta, the power to claim and expand your very own Star Systems is in your hands. Whether creating a thriving new economy, a bustling trade hub, or a new port of operations, the galaxy awaits your vision.”

This means users will get to choose where to establish their base, weighing the trade-offs of resource allocation and system location. For example, you might prefer establishing in a strategical region over a rich planetary system. The cost to claim a new area stands at 25 million credits, a manageable sum for seasoned players.

Once a claim is confirmed, players will commence a building phase where they can establish a potential economy, enriching their systems further. This expansion isn’t just limited to ground bases but also includes space stations that can be named creatively with the game’s premium currency.

The potential for Elite Dangerous has taken a huge leap forward with this update, promising thrilling new gameplay experiences for both old fans and newcomers alike.
