A new mod for Dark Souls 3 enables seamless co-op gameplay, allowing players to enhance their teamwork abilities as they prepare for the upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign expansion.
The mod is currently in an alpha state but is available for download now.
Dark Souls 3 Co-op Mod
According to creator Yui, the mod allows players to enjoy the game with friends without the usual restrictions. Players will no longer be sent back to their own worlds when they die or defeat bosses, and all fog walls that typically limit multiplayer engagement have been removed. Notably, NPC dialogues are synchronized for all players, and game progression is maintained across different worlds.
Yui notes, “Simply put, the mod allows you to play with friends throughout the entirety of the game with no restrictions.”
With the mod, up to five players can explore together, though ensuring a balanced gameplay experience involves some difficulty settings that can be customized.
Invasion options are also supported, contingent upon player settings in the game’s .ini file. However, potential connection issues with FromSoftware’s matchmaking servers are noted, requiring a specific setup for multiplayer features.
Despite some bugs associated with the alpha release, interested players are encouraged to report any issues they encounter directly to the creator.
