MrBeast Admits to Significant Financial Loss from Amazon's Beast Games
MrBeast reveals that he lost tens of millions of dollars of his own money on his ambitious Amazon show, Beast Games.
MrBeast has recently opened up about the financial fallout of his Amazon Prime series, Beast Games. In a candid interview, he shared:
“I lost money. I would have more money if I didn’t film it.” (Translation: He incurred financial losses while filming the series.)
The high-stakes competition featured 1,000 contestants vying for a record-setting cash prize of $10 million, but even with a budget of $100 million from Amazon, he personally spent tens of millions to make the show a reality.
According to MrBeast:
“It was not a good financial decision to make Beast Games.” (Translation: The financial outcome of the series was not as he expected.)
Furthermore, each episode of the ten-part series could cost over $15 million to produce. Notably, Episode 1 featured one of the largest sets ever created for television.
Despite its massive viewership—being the most-watched unscripted series in Amazon’s history with 50 million viewers in its first month—the financial strain has led MrBeast to humorously call himself an idiot for the choices made regarding this project:
“I lost tens of millions of dollars on that show, I’m an idiot.” (Translation: He regrets the financial decisions surrounding the production.)
There have also been reports of negative experiences among the contestants:
“We signed up for the show, but we didn’t sign up for not being fed or watered or treated like human beings.” (Translation: Contestants expressed dissatisfaction with their treatment during the filming.)
MrBeast is still hopeful about the show’s future, urging Amazon to move ahead with a second season. “Amazon! Let’s get Season 2 in the books already! Come on, let’s sign a contract.”
