Marvel Rivals Faces Criticism Over Confusing Fire Effects

Players express frustrations over distinguishing between friendly and enemy fire in Marvel Rivals due to similar visual effects.

Players Struggle with Friendly Fire in Marvel Rivals

In the chaotic world of Marvel Rivals, players are finding it increasingly difficult to navigate the visual effects of the Human Torch’s flames, leading to confusion over which fire belongs to allies and which belongs to enemies.

According to one frustrated player:

“How am I supposed to distinguish between this fire and that fire during a team fight?”
(Translation: “How am I supposed to tell which flames are safe during combat?” )

With the recent addition of characters like The Thing and Human Torch, the game introduced various new skills and powers, but this has made identifying friendly fire during team fights exceedingly challenging. Players are urging the developers to implement a clearer distinction, particularly as they say the flames look too alike.

Many suggest changing enemy flames to a different color, such as blue or green, for quick identification. However, players utilizing the colorblind setting have noted that it does little to improve the situation, with one stating:

“Colorblind here. Their colorblind mode is absolutely useless.”
(Translation: “As a colorblind player, I find the mode doesn’t help at all.”)

The Team at Marvel Rivals is aware of the chaos during ranked games, and while the gameplay can be fun in casual modes, it becomes a frustrating experience at higher levels. As issues with confusion and clarity in fire mechanics persist, the community hopes for adjustments that could enhance gameplay without losing the fun factor.
