Marvel Rivals Offers Players 200 Units as Apology for Server Issues
After addressing server outages, Marvel Rivals compensates players with in-game currency, triggering positive responses from users.
Last night, Marvel Rivals’ servers experienced a downtime. After confirming the situation, NetEase promptly worked on a fix that lasted less than an hour, during which players were compensated with units for the inconvenience.
“As a token of our appreciation for your patience, we’ve credited your account with 200 units as compensation,” a post on Marvel Rivals’ Discord stated. Players must log into the game and claim the units from their in-game mail section before March 11.
Even players like me, who were unaffected by the downtime, received the free units. Users expressed satisfaction, showcasing how they were caught off guard but still benefited from the gesture. One player noted, “I literally made 200 units in my sleep,” reflecting the overall happiness within the community. Another player shared their appreciation for now having 2400 units waiting for a new skin in the shop.
Players can acquire units (the blue currency) through the premium battle pass or by exchanging lattice (the gold currency) for them. Gaining 200 free units is favorable, especially considering the value of purchasing them.
NetEase also indicated that it is modifying the battle pass system to allow players to convert surplus collectables into units, streamlining the process to earn skins. This update aims to enhance player satisfaction and reward those who invest time into the game.
