The Sims 4 Welcomes Back Burglars After a Long Absence

The latest update for The Sims 4 introduces burglars, police officials, and burglar alarms, enhancing gameplay excitement.

In a significant update for The Sims 4, burglars, police, and burglar alarms are being integrated back into the base game as of today. This exciting change aims to recreate some of the chaos and surprises that players have missed, particularly since burglars had been missing from the fourth installment of the series for quite some time.

With the latest patch, players can expect some familiar elements to return, such as the notorious burglar who sneaks into homes while Sims are asleep. Whenever a burglar approaches, players may hear a violin wail reminiscent of horror films, adding to the suspense before a thief makes off with hard-earned possessions.

According to EA, “The infamous Robin Banks (yep, that’s her name—we couldn’t resist) only strikes at night, sneaking into your Sim’s home while everyone is fast asleep (or even if they are awake!).”

Alongside the burglar’s return, players can also install burglar alarms in their virtual homes to deter theft, while police NPCs are being reinstated to respond to alarms and burglary reports. The update promises to add a wealth of interactions, including the new lot challenge “Heist Havoc” which makes burglaries more frequent. All these changes are designed to enhance player engagement across various expansions, promising a more interconnected gameplay experience.

This free update is available today, encouraging players to beef up their home security measures in the game.
