Logitech is set to launch an updated version of its G PowerPlay mouse pad, which aims to enhance gaming convenience by keeping compatible mice charged while they are in use.
The new PowerPlay 2 will be priced at $99, a slight reduction from the initial version’s $120 price tag. It will be available starting March 11, 2025, and supports over ten mouse models, including:
- Logitech G309
- Logitech G502 X Plus
- Logitech G502 X Lightspeed
- Logitech G502 Lightspeed
- Logitech G703
- Logitech G903
- Logitech G Pro Wireless
- Logitech G Pro X Superlight
- Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2
- Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Dex
While the new iteration promises a slimmer design (3.5 mm thick vs. 4 mm) and a broader charging area, it is slightly smaller than the original version. This may disappoint gamers who prefer a larger surface area for low-sensitivity gameplay. The original mouse pad measured 321 mm x 344 mm compared to the new version’s 284 mm x 344 mm.
In conclusion, though the PowerPlay 2 offers some enticing updates, the slight reduction in size raises questions about whether it’s truly an upgrade or more of a sidegrade.
