Nvidia’s latest gaming GPU, the RTX 50-series, has encountered multiple issues, including missing ROPs (Raster Operation Pipelines) in some cards. Reports suggest that this defect affects a small fraction, approximately 0.5%, of the units in circulation.
The missing ROPs can lead to a slight decrease in performance, impacting games that rely on rendering efficiency. For instance, the RTX 5090, which should normally possess 176 ROPs, has been spotted with only 168, causing concern among users.
Affected individuals can reach out to their manufacturers for a replacement, as Nvidia has confirmed that the production anomaly has been resolved.
If you suspect your card might be impacted, consider requesting a return to ensure that you have the performance you paid for.
