AMD's Leaked Performance Metrics for RDNA 4 Reveal RX 9070 XT Surpassing Previous Generations

A leak has disclosed AMD's latest RDNA 4 GPU performance figures, indicating a significant improvement over its predecessors.

After a relatively low-key introduction at CES 2025, AMD’s next-gen GPU architecture, RDNA 4, is under scrutiny due to various leaks and rumors about its performance relative to prior models. A tech site has reportedly accessed AMD’s actual performance claims.

The site in question, Videocardz, alleged that AMD unveiled these performance numbers at a press event they were not invited to but managed to gather details nonetheless.

Presently, the RX 9070 XT supposedly outperforms both the RX 7900 GRE and RX 6900 XT, boasting a 42% and 51% increase in speed respectively at 4K across over 30 titles with ‘Ultra’ quality settings. If accurate, this increase signifies a major advancement for AMD. However, each performance figure comes with caveats, particularly in terms of ray tracing capabilities.

The RX 9070 XT marks a notable leap, yet many uncertainties remain regarding the validity of these statistics and the comparative improvements against the RX 7900 XT. Enthusiasts and consumers won’t have to wait long, as the full unveiling of the RX 9000-series is expected to take place soon, bringing clarity to the performance landscape.
