Dota 2 has undergone another massive transformation with its latest update, dubbed Wandering Waters. This update reintroduces water mechanics that significantly change the flow of gameplay.

Previously, the game featured a single river that served mainly for aesthetic purposes. Now, however, two new waterways have been added to the Dota 2 map, flowing toward new wetlands. Players can take advantage of these waterways for a speed boost when moving in the direction of the ‘safe’ lanes.

The changes not only enhance movement but also introduce new creatures and a unique currency named Madstone for crafting items. Additionally, the game now requires players to be uncontested when interacting with specific objectives, further intensifying strategic gameplay.

In the developer’s words, “Much like the galactic water miners in the movie and possibly the book Dune Part 2, Dota has always been the only game in any genre that believes water is the most valuable resource in both the Dune-iverse and our universe.”
