In a disappointing reveal for fans of the franchise, WWE 2K25 will not include the popular show intro cutscenes from the MyUniverse mode, which have been favorites among players. In recent previews, it has been stated that although the game will feature intergender matches, chain wrestling, and the new multiplayer experience dubbed ‘The Island’, the much-loved intros will not be making a return this year.
Bryan Williams, one of the developers at Visual Concepts, noted that the team had to carefully consider the inclusion of fan-favorite features and acknowledged that some players found them tedious. This decision was met with disappointment from the community, who enjoyed the authenticity these cutscenes brought to the gameplay experience.
Fans have voiced frustration on platforms like Reddit, emphasizing that these pre-show sequences enhanced the overall atmosphere and were an integral part of the experience. There is still hope that these intros could be reintroduced in future installments, contingent upon fan demand. Meanwhile, WWE 2K25 is set to be released on March 14, 2025, coinciding with WrestleMania 41.
