2XKO Development Delays Cause Fan Frustration Over Release Date

Fans of the upcoming fighting game from Riot Games express disappointment over postponed playtesting plans, raising concerns about the game's future.

The wait for 2XKO continues as Riot Games has delayed its plans for a larger-scale global playtest. Instead, a less extensive playtest is being prepared, causing disappointment among fans eager for updates on this anticipated fighting game.

In a recent update posted on Reddit, game director Shaun Rivera revealed that the scheduled playtest, originally set for next month, would now be substituted with a smaller version. Rivera noted that developers are focused on building the necessary infrastructure to steadily roll out the game, aimed at bringing in more players later this year.

“We’ve seen and enjoyed the crazy memes and the hysteria of the subreddit while waiting for the Feb update, and want to correct some of the misinformation going around,” Rivera stated. Translation: “We have observed the memes and excitement on Reddit while waiting for the February update, and we want to clarify some misinformation that has circulated.”

Fans expressed concern that the game, which has been in development for years, might not see a release in 2025 as anticipated. Comments shared by users on Reddit reflected sentiments of skepticism about the timelines and game adjustments needed before launch, showcasing a mix of hope and frustration in the gaming community.

As updates remain sparse, many fans are left wondering when they will finally experience 2XKO.
