Split Fiction Revives a Beloved Feature from It Takes Two

Split Fiction is set to include the Friend's Pass feature from Its predecessor It Takes Two, allowing players to team up without both needing to purchase the game.

Summary

  • Split Fiction will feature the Friend’s Pass allowing co-op gameplay across different platforms.
  • The Friend’s Pass option permits a player who owns the game to invite another player for co-op sessions without needing a separate copy.
  • Players can begin with a trial version and carry their progress if one decides to purchase the full game.

The upcoming game Split Fiction will inherit the Friend’s Pass functionality from its predecessor It Takes Two, broadening co-op opportunities across platforms. This feature, introduced in 2021, permits players to invite others for joint play without requiring them to own a copy of the game.

Following its success with A Way Out in 2018 and the acclaim of It Takes Two, Hazelight Studios continues to innovate within the co-op gaming space. Their previous title, It Takes Two, has achieved extraordinary commercial success, selling over 20 million copies and receiving numerous awards, including Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021.

As the release of Split Fiction approaches on March 6, 2025, Hazelight seems poised to continue its tradition of delivering engaging cooperative experiences.
