Valve's Latest Report Shows Nearly 45% of Steam Users Are Sticking with Windows 10

A new survey reveals significant Windows 10 usage among Steam users, despite upcoming support termination.

Proof at last it’s not just you.

Steam’s monthly hardware and software survey has revealed, as of January 2025, that 44.41% of PC users are still using Windows 10, which will lose support this October. It’s understandable why many would prefer to hold on to a dependable OS rather than upgrade to the more resource-intensive Windows 11.

Multiple factors contribute to this statistic. Many users possibly include internet cafes, where hardware maintenance is a greater challenge, making OS upgrades less frequent. Although the data shows a significant proportion of users still on Windows 10, the transition to newer versions may not be abrupt with the end of official support.
