Battlefield 2042 Update 8.5.0: Enhancements and Bug Fixes

The latest update for Battlefield 2042 introduces significant improvements to loading screens and resolves various gameplay bugs.

EA has rolled out update 8.5.0 for Battlefield 2042, which includes various quality of life improvements aimed at enhancing user experience. This new update offers a significant visual upgrade to loading screens across all game modes, along with further refinements planned for future releases.

Despite the numerous issues at launch in 2021, Battlefield 2042 has seen substantial improvements over time through post-launch updates. These updates not only addressed critical technical problems and gameplay bugs but also introduced new content and features. Notably, a January 2025 update added two vehicles, including the M3A3 Bradley and BMP-2, alongside the new modes Frontlines Unlocked and Conquest Unlocked. Although efforts are now focusing on the next installment of the Battlefield series, namely Battlefield 6, developers continue to implement updates for Battlefield 2042, like the recent 8.5.0 release.

Update Highlights:

  • Enhanced visual quality of loading screens with improved descriptions for better clarity.
  • Resolved issues related to overlapping input prompts.
  • Vehicle improvements and critical bug fixes, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience.
