NetEase’s turbulent relationship with its western studios continues, as the action-adventure studio Anchor Point announces its decision to become independent. The shift was revealed by Paul Ehreth, the CEO and former lead designer on Remedy’s Control.

Founded in 2023, Anchor Point was initially focused on creating action-adventure games for consoles and PCs while operating under the NetEase umbrella. Ehreth expressed that their passion and commitment to their current project remains strong, inviting potential investors to reach out for partnerships as they set out on this new journey.
Ehreth emphasized gratitude towards NetEase for their support and resources, stating that it enabled them to build a talented team and explore creative ideas.
