Duplication Exploits Addressed: Embark Cracks Down on Cheaters in Arc Raiders

Embark Studios takes action against players misusing item duplication glitches in Arc Raiders, issuing warnings and bans.

Recent Cheating Issues in Arc Raiders

It’s no secret that Arc Raiders has encountered significant issues with bugs, particularly those that allow players to exploit the system. Recently, a prominent item duplication glitch was addressed by Embark Studios with a hotfix, only to have another exploit emerge that enabled players to attain infinite ammo and perform free repairs. Embark has stated that penalties will follow for those who exploit these issues.

In a new blog post, Embark acknowledged that these exploits were caused by a design flaw but stated they had a tangible effect on the game’s economy and player experience.

“Over the course of this week, we will begin issuing enforcement actions to accounts that we can confirm took advantage of these exploits. We understand the desire for fast action, especially when both gameplay and the economy suffer. At the same time, our responsibility is, and must be, to act with fairness and accuracy.” They intend to issue punishments depending on the degree of abuse:

  • Warnings for low-severity cases
  • Removal of in-game currency linked to exploits
  • Temporary suspensions for severe cases impacting the game or other players’ experiences

If a player merely tested the exploit, they are likely to escape punishment; however, those who actively exploited the glitch to gain unfair advantages will face consequences.

Embark is constantly improving detection and preventive measures to ensure such abuses are minimized in the future. Let’s hope similar issues won’t arise again.
