It has been exactly one year since Avowed was released, and Obsidian has continued to enhance it with new classes, new skills, and improved optimization.

To coincide with the debut of the PS5 version, Avowed received its largest update thus far, which introduces New Game Plus, three new races, and a brand-new weapon class.

Character creation now allows players to choose from Dwarves, Orlans, and Aumauans, a significant expansion beyond just humans or elves. The Orlans are characterized by their furry, cat-like ears, with one notable example in Avowed being Yatzli, known for their playful antics. Companion Kai is an Aumauan, recognized for their tall, fish-like features. Each race has unique starting attributes to complement their new background choices.

For those currently playing, frustrated by their race selection, a new Magic Mirror feature at the camp permits changes to your race or godlike traits, the peculiar growths that identify you as a godlike.

New Game Plus offers a familiar experience, allowing players to restart with previously acquired gear and unlocked abilities (excluding godlike abilities). Enemies become tougher, and players can now raise their attribute points from a cap of 15 to 30.

Alongside this, a new photo mode and additional difficulty sliders have been added for those wanting a tailored challenge. A new quarterstaff weapon class enters the fray as well, described as a bludgeoning weapon that features unique stun finishers.
