Fans have long awaited new updates about this Marvel fighter, particularly after previously revealing eight characters alongside several closed beta tests performed in 2025. With Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls set to launch in 2026, it was becoming increasingly likely that news would soon emerge.
Recent communications disclosed details earlier than expected. Following an announcement from the PlayStation State of Play on February 12, the Steam page for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls received an update revealing a roster of 20 heroes, support for 64-player online lobbies, and a requirement for PSN accounts from PC users. Additionally, a single-player mode is slated to provide an in-depth exploration of the game’s various teams, including a newly showcased trailer that hints at the teams’ dynamics.
A detailed blog post elaborates on the previously mentioned Episode Mode, in which Arc System Works collaborates with Marvel Games to merge American Comics with Japanese Manga to narrate the game’s story. A series of motion comics illustrated by renowned artists will be used to represent the narrative, penned by a noted writer from the original Marvel comics.

Starting on Chandilar, the Shi’ar Homeworld, the trailer depicted scenes with Deathbird and Gladiator before the planet was vaporized. It then transitioned to Earth, unveiling a purple storm cloud that enveloped the skies, introducing fans to the night’s overarching story.
Subsequently, the trailer confirmed the first complete group of characters, known as the Unbreakable X-Men. Players have already witnessed Storm in previous Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls trailers, but she is now joined by Wolverine, Magik, and Danger. While the first three have appeared in various games and media, Danger symbolizes the Danger Room from the X-Mansion, a training locale for Xavier’s mutants. Originally introduced in the 2005 title Astonishing X-Men (Vol. 3), the Danger Room has been revitalized, thanks to Shi’ar technology.
