Epic Games Clarifies the Jeff Epstein Fortnite Account Hoax

Epic Games addresses speculation about a Fortnite account linked to Jeffrey Epstein, confirming it was a misleading ruse.

Epic Games has released a statement concerning a Fortnite account allegedly linked to Jeffrey Epstein, a figure known for his criminal activities as a sex offender and human trafficker. Recent revelations about the Epstein Files suggested that an account named littlestjeff1 was supposedly owned by Epstein, with purchase activity of V-Bucks noted as recently as 2025, long after he passed away in custody.

However, discussions surrounding Epstein should prioritize justice for his victims rather than speculation about his gaming activities. The Epstein Files have included claims about a gaming-related ban, as there were assumptions that Epstein was suspended from Xbox Live due to harassment and abuse; instead, reports indicate this was part of a more extensive agreement with Microsoft to prohibit registered sex offenders from the platform.

Recent investigations have shown that the account littlestjeff1 had reached Silver 1 status during Chapter 5 Season 1 of Fortnite, playing 75 matches in 2025. This led to exaggerated speculations about Epstein’s presence in the gaming world, triggering discussions on his possible survival and the authenticity of the profile.

Epic Games confirmed that the account was a hoax, created by a player who changed their username recently to appear as if it belonged to Epstein. They clarified that the current display names monitored by their systems do not reflect previous usernames; therefore, insufficient records exist connecting Epstein to any of the accounts in question. Such misleading activity has escalated concerns about fake accounts using names similar to Epstein, although it remains uncertain if any disciplinary actions will be taken against these profiles.
