Guild Wars 2’s Raids and Wardrobe update launched this week, introducing two features that should ideally have delighted players. The standout additions include a raid quickplay option and a revamped wardrobe system, which on paper offers a fashion template system designed for effortless style switching.
This marked the first major update in the ‘Visions of Eternity’ expansion cycle, which has notably refrained from adding much new content in a bid to address previous complaints about limited expansion updates. ArenaNet opted to reserve new maps and story missions for subsequent updates, focusing this one on enhancing player experience.
Despite the positive intentions behind these features, community reactions indicate otherwise. Players have taken to forums to express frustration with the complexity of the new system. Previously, costume changes were straightforward through an equipment template wardrobe, but the introduction of fashion templates has made the process more cumbersome.
The community’s dissatisfaction can be attributed to a perceived reduction in quality of life from this update. As this update unfolds, ArenaNet has yet to address the players’ reactions directly. The developers were contacted for comments but have not yet responded.
