Let it Die: Inferno Reverses Roguelite Action by Plunging Players into the Hell Gate
Discover the new gameplay mechanics in Let it Die: Inferno as it shifts the classic roguelite model.
Can you survive and extract?
When we recently viewed a new trailer for Let it Die: Inferno at the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, it showcased a wealth of intense action. Following up on Grasshopper Manufacture’s original Let it Die, players will descend deep into the Hell Gate, striving to escape while retaining both their loot and health intact. The beloved skateboarding Grim Reaper, Uncle Death, will also be making a return.
In this sequel, players face off against other characters and monstrous creatures called Yuckies, as they hunt for the precious treasure known as the Eye of the Reaper. The gameplay is frenetic, involving wild melee attacks while traversing ever-shifting landscapes.
Players can wield both left and right-hand weapons simultaneously to maximize damage output against opponents. This dual-wielding capability allows for strategic combat, giving players options to focus on one weapon while alternating to use both for taking down foes.
As a roguelite, the game will feature randomized arms, each serving unique purposes—some are for ranged attacks, while others can disrupt foes, opening them for follow-up strikes. Players have a strict 15-minute timer to gather SPLithium by defeating enemies. Failure to secure enough resources results in reincarnation alongside the world’s resets, leading to the loss of all gear.
A compelling gameplay feature involves players managing customized bodies with specific traits, which will be vital for survival. Losing a favored character means starting from scratch, encouraging players to stay alive.
You can find Let it Die: Inferno available right now on Steam for $25/£21, all while the original game remains free to play for those eager to explore how it all began.
