Springs, Eternal Marks Steve Gaynor's Return to Full-Sized Game Development

After an eight-year hiatus, Steve Gaynor of Gone Home fame announces his latest project, Springs, Eternal, at the PC Gaming Show.

At the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, we got our first look at Springs, Eternal, marking the return of Steve Gaynor, co-creator of Gone Home and Tacoma, to full-sized game development.

Gaynor’s journey back to game creation comes after a lengthy hiatus of eight years.

He previously worked on Open Roads, but the studio underwent significant changes during its development. The fallout from studio management issues resulted in Gaynor continuing as a solo developer under the Fullbright name.

He stated, “I hope that along with continuing the self-reflective work of the last couple of years and moving forward with a sense of humility, that by taking Fullbright down this new path, I’m able to make my next steps positive and productive.”

Springs, Eternal is set to launch in 2026, and players can wishlist the game on Steam now.
