IllFonic has unveiled the first map for its upcoming Halloween game, titled Haddonfield Heights. This level embodies the suburban horror essence that is synonymous with the Halloween franchise.
IllFonic initially revealed this project at Gamescom in August 2025. Inspired by the iconic 1978 horror film by John Carpenter, the game will offer an asymmetrical multiplayer experience, a genre the developers are already adept at. The Colorado-based studio confirmed that the game will support both PvP and co-op online modes, alongside a solo play option.
Map Details
The Haddonfield Heights map is set against the iconic backdrop of a suburban neighborhood, with gameplay focusing on tension and strategy. Players will navigate through familiar terrains that are both comforting and treacherous, as elaborated by Jordan Mathewson, IllFonic’s Design Director:
“We wanted players to feel the comfort of a neighborhood they recognize from the film right before we turn it into panic. Every hedge, hallway, and backyard was built to heighten suspense and reward clever play, whether you’re hunting or being hunted.”
Gameplay Dynamics
Players who assume the role of Michael Myers will hunt down civilians while they must gather supplies and devise ways to call for help while dodging the killer. The studio’s history with asymmetrical horror games sets expectations high for an immersive and thrilling experience.
The Halloween game is slated for release on September 8, 2026, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Further details about the price and system requirements are still pending.
